This lesson tool aims to engage students aged 16-18 in exploring innovative employment opportunities at the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ). The focus is on helping students become more aware of their strengths and areas for growth, developing new skills, collaborating, and understanding the ethical implications of their actions in a global and local context.
Learning Engagement: “Innovative Role Proposal at NMoQ”
Objective:
Students will conceptualize, design, and propose an innovative role or project to be implemented at the National Museum of Qatar, focusing on enhancing the museum’s offerings or operations.
1. Forming Groups and Initial Briefing:
i. Students are divided into small groups, each receiving an overview of the project objectives and guidelines.
ii. Introduction to the NMoQ’s current structure, roles, and functions.
2. Research Phase:
i. Each group conducts in-depth research on NMoQ, focusing on its history, exhibitions, audience engagement, and any gaps or opportunities for growth.
ii. Research methods include online resources, interviews with museum staff (if possible), and studying comparable institutions globally.
3. Idea Generation and Selection:
i. Groups brainstorm various ideas for new roles or projects. Ideas could range from digital archiving initiatives, interactive exhibits, educational programs, to new forms of visitor engagement.
ii. The group selects one idea to develop further based on its potential impact, feasibility, and alignment with NMoQ’s mission.
4. Developing the Proposal:

i. Groups present their proposals to the class and invited guests, such as NMoQ representatives.
